OCRemix Releases FFVII: Voices of the Lifestream Fan Tribute Album

Final Fantasy VII fans are in for an amazing treat today.  The incredibly talented community over at OverClocked ReMix have released a new fan tribute album: Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream.  The album, made by fans for fans, honors the recent 10-year anniversary of the Square Enix PlayStation video game.  It's chalked full of a whopping 45 tracks - over three hours of pure FFVII bliss!  Want to hear the best news of all?  The album is absolutely free to download!  So head on over to OCR's site and start downloading!  For more information, visit the project's home page.

I've been giving the album a once-over for the past hour or so, and I can't possibly portray how impressed I am.  This album truly breathes new life into Nobuo Uematsu's critically-acclaimed score.

Update 10/1/07: Our staff member Ronin has recently written a very thorough track-by-track review of this album.  We've posted the review here for your reading pleasure.

This really is an amazing achievement. Every track brings back memories for me and is really well done.

Ive already burned a few sets for my friends who are not fortunate enough to own Mp3 Players. For free of course.

The artists put a lot of effort into this project and I wouldn't even think of trying to profit from it. Anyone with half of a conscience should feel the same way.

Excellent work, been linking people to the site left and right, really - some of these tracks I will be keeping permanently in my playlist.

That last post was a joke. Everybody likes money tongue.

ok I don't wanna fight! let's just discuss this somewhere safe!

"AND BESIDES I don't like money >.<"

Unfathomable.

hey I'm not a scammer!
AND BESIDES I don't like money >.<
I'm just a guy who loves the music
by Nicol Armarfi @ 17 Sep 2007 05:10 am
...I was correct, then. But either way, it's pointless to discuss this here anyway. If any problems actually do arise, it would be much easier to just contact OCR then.

"it's their request.. I got a pm from ocremix and requesting to burn em or sell em.. I think atleast that's what I understand"

This is Fishy, one of the artists. This is absolute rubbish. Even if we wanted to sell it which we don't, its a copyright infringement as we don't own the rights to the originals. Xald, read the terms and conditions and stop trying to make money off our hard work please.
by Nicol Armarfi @ 17 Sep 2007 12:43 am
I don't understand exactly why they would do that. Are they expecting you to give them a portion of the sales? But then again, on one of the cover images, it states that the project was non profit.

Absolutely magical~!

That is not a download meter. That's just showing how long it will take for you to finish uploading the files for other people to download. You don't need this, if you wish, you may close the client now. However, it's much more curtious of you to leave it open to speed up other people's download's.
by "FF7 Fan" @ 16 Sep 2007 09:16 am
Well, I finally got the thing to finish downloading, but now it says that it's going to take another 23+ hours to finish! What the heck?!
by Appiration @ 16 Sep 2007 06:18 am
Ocreremix gives details on using clients Bittorrent and Azerus for downloading their albums (and individual tracks - all 1600+ of them) in a single shot. Took me approximately five hours on a Cable/DSL line using Bittorrent (Azerus requires paid subscription to bypass hassle). Given I was asleep at the time, the time flew by.

Any fan of FFVII should require a change of pants at the end of this massive 3+ hour journey.

The only complaint I have is that this project wasn't for FFVI. As if you could really call this a complaint.
by "FF7 Fan" @ 16 Sep 2007 01:20 am
...Actually, I think I got it, so never mind what I said just now; but is it supposed to take more than 24 hours to download and stuff? Did it do that for you guys?

(BTW, I really enjoy listening to some of the fan arrangements you guys make for this site.)
by "FF7 Fan" @ 16 Sep 2007 12:40 am
So, wait... Is it possible to download them and get them on one's computer (you know, to put on a CD or an MP3 player or something?)?

And if so, how do I do that? I've tried to do what it says on the websites, but my computer can't seem to open them or do whatever it needs to do...
by Nicol Armarfi @ 15 Sep 2007 09:05 pm
"now I'm gonna burn em and sell em!"
I sure hope that was a joke. I'm sure the artists would be greatly offended to hear about this.

Anyway. Currently downloading the MP3's. Though, I'm seeding 8 other torrents at the moment, and they're eating up all my bandwidth. So these won't be done downloading for a while sad.
by Xald @ 15 Sep 2007 02:07 pm
weepee!!! I just finished downloading the songs!! and it's so awesome!! now I'm gonna burn em and sell em!

try BitComet guys! it's kinda nice :P
by Tim @ 15 Sep 2007 11:32 am
I'm not that experienced with BitTorrents myself, so I ended up downloading each track one at a time. There are links on their site to help with the BitTorrents, or there's a link to download tracks individually.
by "FF7 Fan" @ 15 Sep 2007 11:23 am
But one needs to download BitTorrent to do all that. How does one do that?
