This is quite frankly the perfect book for any intermediate pianists... whether they're FF fans or not! There's a whole bunch of fantastic arrangements which anyone will enjoy.

The average length of the pieces is 2-3 pages... ideal for most beginners to intermediates. I find that many are quite easy to pick up, enjoyable to play, and a challenge to master.

My personal favourite is 'Julia'... such a simple song, but here you have music very close to the original, and the song itself is breathtaking. A pleasure to play and listen to.

It also has great versions of 'To Zanarkand', '1000 words', 'Eyes on Me'.... all the big ones plus some you might not have expected :)

There are a couple of... anomalies (I suppose would be the best way to describe them). Some are far too simple to be of interest to play, such as 'Nightmare of the Cave'. Also... some are quite impossible to play without a sustain pedal or veeery long fingers XD But of course you can, as I have, simply 'edit' some notes with a pencil for easier playing.

There may be a few more songs you would have wished to see in this collection. Personally, Fisherman's Horizon would have been a bonus... even so, there are so many pieces to choose from you will definitely not be disappointed.

It also includes lyrics to the songs... some are in Japanese, some are in English text. The text is, of course in Japanese. However, it's not a problem as there is a list on this very site and several other places (so you can write them on the pages or just refer to it I suppose).

So, even with the complaints, I must give this book an incrdible 5 stars! For those who are new to playing FF music, it's a great thing to get you started and build up a repertoire, while providing a stepping stone to progress from easier to harder pieces within the book itself, and on to harder pieces in other FF music scores.

I play a piece from this book whenever I sit down to the piano, and I can never get bored of the variety. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and by sharing how I feel you're more likely to try this book :)

Great piano book not too hard to play , intermidiate level , titles of the songs are in japaneise but i asked him to give me a copy of them in english and he did. has alot of the good songs of final fantasy and more. if you like playing final fantasy songs than you should get this book. it game quickly even thought i'm in canada (maybe 6-8 days). hope this review helped you make your choice.
