Great idea for a topic...I remember the one about the Pokémon truck quite well. The one that always haunted me was from Final Fantasy VI, though. Fight 4,000 battles (or some other ridiculously high number) in the Tyranosaur Forest, and you'll get a Resurrection Egg. Take it to General Leo's grave in Thamasa, and he'll come back to life and join your party!
The funny thing is, I probably fought at least the number of battles required for the sheer joy of building up my characters to ridiculous levels.
