ARRANGEMENT COMPETITION ~ YOKO SHIMOMURA
------------------------------------------------------------------
I have now posted the entries. Please excuse the strange format. I wanted all the pieces to be downloadable so I uploaded them all into one folder via mediafire. Unfortunately Master Composer's entry could not be uploaded this way, because of the strange format. That entry has been posted seperately. Please enjoy the entries. Thanks again to everyone for participating, and congratulations to our winner, Lundquist!

JUDGING SYSTEM
All entries will be judged on the following point system: Judges will rank the piece on a scale of "one to ten" in three different catagories. (catagories listed below.) Each judge will submit his scores and those scores will be averaged for each catagory (rounded to the nearest whole number). The points earned per catagory will then be added together to form the final score. Thus a perfect score would be a 30. In the case of a tie, the judges will re-evaluate the pieces and debate and decide on the winner. If no decision can be made by the collaboration of judges, the head judge (The-Real-Link) will act as tie-breaker.
CATAGORIES
Technique: Grade the piece's technical merit. Its fluidity and confidence can all play a part, but complicated music will not be rewarded over simplicity if both attempts are equally adept. Notation can be taken into effect in this catagory, however it is not required that the piece be conventionally notated. Scores on notation will be passed based on the individual piece. (eg. The score of a piece in the electronica or remix genre would not be influenced by notational style. A piano solo piece, however, would recieve a lowered score if the notation is unreadable or incorrect.)
Musicality: Grade the success of the piece's musical direction. Analyze context, sensitivity, lyricism, and the overall intended effect from the composer's point of view. Try to determine whether the composition works in relation to its source, itself, and its own aesthetic and proportion rather than on preference.
Personal Tilt: Grade based on opinion. This is the chance to influence the score on taste; promising works that perhaps had a few rough edges can be raised, others lowered, within reason.
