My rock song

I did this song about 2.5 years ago when I was actively playing guitar. Normally I play the piano but I had this break with new instrument. I did the drums,base and strings with midi keyboard and played the guitar myself. It's instrumental, I can't sing at all.

Sounds like it should have vocals. It's rather repetitive without them. Usually when it's an instrumental the instruments at least do something interesting. I'd recommend much more diversity. For instance, the intro lasts way too long with nothing interesting happening. And the guitar needs to do a lot more. When there is about a minute left in the song, the guitar is mindlessly repetitive for the next 40 seconds. I'd Make more use of scales and such, because that basically sounds like a rock song with the lyrics taken out of it.

I don't mean to be mean, but that was pretty boring. I'm trying to give you constructive criticism so you can be a better composer in the future. It just sounds like it needs a lead instrument, and the guitar tries but it's not interesting enough. Make the guitar way more interesting and less repetitive and the song will be way better. The mix actually sounds really good, it's just the guitar isn't good enough.

Thanks for criticism. It is very repetitive but I got so much good feedback when I first posted it that I didn't care. Thinking about the vocals, you're pretty much right. The guitar comp was supposed to be as the leading thing in this song, but now when I think of it, it's just a comp. But on the other hand, my guitar skills weren't that good so doing more interesting things would have sounded pretty clumsy, I think.

Me and my friend played a song in our highschool graduation ceremony. It's called "Lähtö" and is composed by him. I arranged some parts of it.
