Just a tip for titling your songs. If you're remembering something happy and innocent like a dog, a more simple title like "Song for Sam" actually works a lot better and has a deeper emotional pull. "Requiem" is too dark. Even just "Sam" would be better.

I wasn't necessarily going for something happy and innocent. There will be a time for that, but right now I'm still pretty depressed about it, and that's what came out in the song, which is why requiem seemed appropriate.
