Default Original Compositions - 07-30-2009, 11:14 PM

(This topic will also be the topic I update whenever I complete a new arrangement--I just can't change the title)

I have a large number of original projects in addition to my arrangement projects, but so few of them ever actually achieve the bliss of completion, so I thought I'd share the lucky few:

The Empty Bench
Flute and Marimba Duet

One is a flute and marimba duet (I'm not good with titles, so that's what the file name is, too). The other is a piano feature with strings and some woodwinds.

If I ever finish any other ones, I'll update this topic with them

I love The Empty Bench. What was your inspiration?

I just sat down at a piano one day and started playing the opening piano part. then, I just started adding strings and some woodwinds. I took a little from One-Winged Angel and Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 as well

I finally completed an original percussion ensemble piece, at just under 4 minutes. I'm pretty happy with most of it.

Somnia

your mediafire link is failing =( and your song "Somnia" sounded completely different than what the title made me imagine... it's very interesting, you sure seem to have your own unique style, and that is an extremely good thing! "Orchestra Piece 11-1" definitely would sound great in a game, try re-making the song in better software, I'd love to see how it sounds!

anyways, can i make use of this thread to post my own music, too?

While I don't personally mind (I'm pretty laid back), I think it might definitely be best to just make your own topic. That way, you'll have your own topic to post your pieces and receive feedback, instead of having two people try to share a topic.

oh ok, it's just that when I saw the title "Original Compositions" I thought it was for everyone to share their original compositions xD but I'll create my own topic so i can leave you with yours, thanks!

in a much different mood than my last one, here's a song I just finished in memoriam my dog Samantha, who has reached the end of her life after fifteen mostly happy years. I said my goodbyes today, and came home (she resides at my parents' house) to write this, so here it is:

Requiem for Sam
