Well, I`m not too sure exactly what format it would be in, but I`m leaning more towards a collection since less people around here know how to make proper quartets in classical form. Though, I may write one to contribute to the project should it ever get off the ground.

Well, I'm down. I have a few ideas. We should have a brainstorm session of sorts.

That would be a good idea. Where to start? We should probably think of some sort of reasonable goal first, perhaps 10-15 arrangements in total from x games. Any ideas?

I'd rather do only 4-6, but have them be longer full on variations and use real forms.

There are some ideas I have; stuff from the Dragon Quest series would be great and convert well to instrumental music and there is a lot you can probably yield a lot of interesting variations.

If we are not sticking to Squaresoft/Square-Enix, there are other games I'd love to arrange.

The best way to start would be an instant messenger conversation.

That`d be cool. I like the 4-6 with full variations idea, too, it would be a lot more unique than typical arrangements/arrangement projects. Also I think going beyond just Square games is a good idea as well, since there are other games out there with less frequently arranged music that needs some attention to be paid to. Also, if you need to contact me via an instant messenger, you can get to me through MSN using the e-mail displayed in this forum account, or you could use my AIM handle, which is Nicol Armarfi (though, I haven`t installed AIM yet on this computer D:).

klarinette74 on AIM, don't have an MSN...

I am on a lot so I'm not hard to catch (even if I am not physically at the keyboard).

How about orchestral versions of some older Uematsu OSTs?

Please give my syphony a listen! Any comments are greatly appreciated!

Actually, a project exactly like this has been done in the past already.

Interesting. I'd love to see it. Another idea - Maybe a marching band suite? Or a march style arrangement. I don't know if this counts, but I think some Lost Odyssey Piano Collection stuff would be awesome.

Now those are interesting ideas. I couldn't contribute to the marching band arrangement project, as I know nothing about marching bands, though there are a few members on the forum who do. I would however contribute to a Lost Odyssey piano collection should it happen some time.
