New Project? -
06-23-2007, 10:29 AM
Recently I've noticed the amount of arrangement projects to be a little lax. With that in mind, I'd like to propose any sort of new arrangement project. Anything. Just throw around a few idea's, if you will. Perhaps another fan piano collection? String quartet project? Anything. Actually, a project allowing multiple different types of arrangement's would be good - relaxing like FFPotions, for example.
In any case... I also think we should try a game that nobody's been paying much attention to - like DoC or Crystal Chronicles. Though nothing is written in stone... Yet.

How about a project on the mana series games. People could arrange for any instruments they like. I think maybe the only limitation should be on the amount of solo piano arrangements.

That could work. Though when you say the series rather than a specific game the amount of possibilities is quite broad. Though it could be a large scale project, the community here is rather lax at the moment. The tracklist would have to be cut down quite a bit, which is hard for so many games. It could work though. Have any particular favourite OST?

Secret of Mana 2/Seiken Densetsu 3 is my favorite so it would be cool to do a project on it. I picked out some of my favorite songs as suggestions for the part of the track list. If we were to use this game.
Where Angel's Fear to Tread
Walls and Steel
Swivel
Don't Hunt the Fairy
Harvest November
Female Turbulence
Nuclear Fusion
Obsession
Can You Fly Sister
Decision Bell
Religion Thunder
Another Winter

Looks good. I have not problem with it at all. Though with that said, the two of us can't arrange them all by ourselves. We should only pick a few we'd really like to do for now and leave the rest for other members if they show any interest.

That sounds good, I guess for now I would really like to do a woodwind choir arrangement for Another Winter, and a clarinet trio or quartet for Don't Hunt the Fairy. So I guess I'll start working on those in a little.

Aah. I've decided to start working on an arrangement of "Can You Fly Sister", aswell, one that's not on the list: Danger. I have no clue what to arrange them for yet, It'll come to me though.

I was thinking of taking a crack at Crystal Chronicles, I let you know what song I pick, though I'm leaning towards the opening/new game cutscene music.

I've actually started on this and I'll post in a few days, but what I decided to start with was instead of one song, I decided to morph the music up to the opening credits of Carlie's story into one piece, hopefully allowing to become more than medley, but rather allowing the pieces to merge and twist together into one idea.

If anyone is still looking at this thing, I'm gonna have to put a hold on working on it until marching band cools down, only eight and a half hours a dayfollowed by a two hour trigonometry class, so I have no time, but I will start on it in the near future.
