Final Fantasy I Piano Collection -
11-22-2008, 01:35 PM
This is a topic for my arrangement project: a Piano Collections album for Final Fantasy I. I love the PC albums, and I think that the earliest games deserve to have ones as well.
Tracklist:
1. Main Theme
2. Chaos' Temple
3. Matoya's Cave
4. Town Theme
5. Ship Theme
6. Menu Theme
7. Gurgu Volcano
8. Dead Music
9. Bridge Building
10. Crystal Revival
11. Boss Battle
12. The Final Battle
13. Ending Theme
It would be very nice to have these performed (Finale doesn't quite cut it...), so if you're up to it, PM me. I also need some spiffy artwork, if anyone can spare the time. I can make some myself, but it would suck, so if you'd like to create some, PM me as well.

So glad to see this. I'll take a look at the arrangements when i get some more time, but even if i can play them, my live recordings aren't the best because of my keyboard. I'll try it though.
Where are you? Here. What time is it? Now. What are you? This moment.

Nice arrangement. Only thing that i found there which i thought could have improved was that at times, the chords seemed kind of overpowering. And the ending bars seemed slightly out of place. Matter of opinion i guess. Anyway, looking forward to the rest of your arrangements.

Thanks for the comments, I'll keep those in mind...less overpowering chords, better endings.

Awesome arrangement! I've always thought it would be really difficult to arrange anything from FF1 simply because there's so little content in the original compositions.
I like the way the music changes tempo in various places... it doesn't sound forced, more like a natural tempo change which is nice. Also, the way the melody switches between treble and bass sounds great too, and the transition between the two is seemless.
A couple of things that I think stand out a bit are the introduction and ending. The intro is a really good idea, but I think that there isn't enough 'space' between the two parts... maybe if one of the parts was an octave higher?
The ending seems fairly muddy, because the notes of the left hand chords are so low. Maybe you could also... draw the cadence out a bit at the end there?
Those are just my thoughts...
Why must I keep changing my signature?

It's a very good arrangement. The only thing that I have to comment about is the section where the left hand plays all the irregular tuplets. They cross with the right hand in a way that would make them very difficult to play in a way that retains the sound that you were going for there, especially at that speed.

Hey, Cool Arrangement. I think that that the intro is really good. In the intro, you could make the second voice into more of a connecting voice of its own which you have kinda done. This would make it more of a feature instead of just providing accompaniment to the main theme?
When the rhythm kicks in, there are some low chords just after 1:05. You could mabey change the inversions of the low chords or change the triads to another sort of rhythmic bass?
Untill the pretty difficult triplet arppeggios that lead into the grandeur ending, the arragngement is quite enclosed withen the middle range of the piano. I dont know what your intentions are - right now,the piece starts out with a small texture and grows and grows. I dunno, just giving food for thought
For further arrangements that you do, you could also look at the form and structure of piano collections pieces arranged that the FF artists have released
I shall say no more

Just so everyone knows, I am still working on this....it's just on hold. I'm working on a much bigger, more urgent project right now. But by February 19th, I should be getting back to it. So look forward to it! Also, thanks for all of the comments; I'll keep them in mind when doing future arrangements.
