Josh, I can't seem to leave a comment on your blog entry regarding Carol of the Bells so I'll do it here. That is one of my very favorite Christmas songs and I miss singing it in my "good old high school choir days". I can't wait to see your arrangement of it.

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs too, though I do find it a bit on the repetitive side. I'm sure Josh will do some things to really spice it up.

BTW, the issue of posting comments on others' blogs should be sorted now. Let me know if you have any problems.

I'm able to post attachments once more!

Keep in mind upon listening to this, that the midi doesn't sound exactly the way it's supposed to sound. It sounds all the better if one is listening in Sibelius. The midi export function is one thing I've never cared for in Sibelius, but that of course will be remedied once I receive my new sound library. Anyways, I hope you all will enjoy this tidbit, and expect to hear a complete version before X-mas !

It's got a good introduction as it leads into the first passage well. I look forward to seeing where you take it next.

Shrikkanth,

Thank you . All I do is my best. Welcome to Squaresound, by the way!

MUSIC UPDATE!

I am getting a group together for a concert this year. As the group stands, we have a guitarist, bassist, percussionist, and I will play piano and synthesizers. I plan on arranging most of the music from games, but I also plan to write a couple of original compositions. Right now, I've been working on an arrangement of Besaid Island from FFX-2. My percussionist will probably improvise on conga to that, but I do have a small sample with the piano, guitar, and bass.

If thats the case, its gonna have a hard time cutting through what sounds like the whole orchestra. A double on glock would sound really pretty though and cut through the orchestra pretty nicely.

Also, maybe its the midi, but I'm having a tough time determining all your instrumentation.

I can't wait until your Besaid arrangement is done! The Final Fantasy X-2 Besaid is actually one of my top 3 favourite pieces from the entire Final Fantasy series, so it's nice to finally hear an arrangement of it

Blobbery.
