That has happened to me before. (I also have the problem with it crashing when inserting rolls. It only happens every once in a while though.)
What I do, is if I see it coming then I will immediatly his print screen so I can at least save one page.

Heh, yeah, this happens to me too whether it's doing schoolwork,arranging, or composing. I can tell when it's coming too and also get upset ahead of time too haha. I could use a new laptop. Wow that would be awesome. I'd definitely arrange and compose more if I had one.

I'm going to get a Sony Viao before going to college next year. (It's got a Blu-Ray drive ^_______^)

Which means I can get "Advent Children: Complete" when it come out stateside! YAYZ!

I'll start a habit like Nicol's. It would help, since I only save when I stop doing what I'm doing. Haha. Like when I tried to arrange Riku's Theme last night, I didn't save until I got halfway finished, and when I saved, BAM! Error message. Time to destroy Finale.

Awesome! Good luck with that. I should start looking for one since I'm already in college and it's strongly recommended for me to have one as a music major. I'm getting by though.

Saving up for FINALE finale...the 600 dollar one. My dad said he'd only pay for a third of it, and that it's my Christmas and birthday present for the next two years.

Yeah, Finale or Sibelius would be good to get too. But Sibelius is strongly preferred in my dept. for some reason...oh well.

I hate when this happens. It always seems to happen to me on my laptpo when I use finale 2008 to save my music files. It was especially saddening when I was working on my orchestra arrangement of Missing You ;_;

Ahhh, Sibelius seems to be Finale's biggest competitor. These are two main notation software companies out there. But personally I've tried them both (well, just Finale Notepad), and I don't like either of them. But I guess that's just because I'm used to my own software.
