Default Twilight Princess: Hyrule Field Theme - 10-10-2009, 05:00 PM

First upload to the archive, and also my first piano arrangement:

Hyrule Field Theme - SquareSound Arrangement Archive

Read the description, and enjoy(hopefully )

P.S. Yes, I know I changed around the chords. I did that on purpose, it's not a mistake.

Not bad. Especially for your first piano arrangement.

Thanks. Arranging for piano is a lot different than what I usually do. You have to keep in mind that it's only one instrument, and you have to stick all the important aspects of a fully orchestrated song into a single instrument. Pretty fun actually.

One of the amazing aspects about the piano is that it is not only a stunning solo instrument that has a huge range, but it can be treated as a special effects instrument at the same time that it is a soloing instrument. Advanced arrangement techniques can be applyed in amazing ways on the piano. It is probably the most versatile instrument, second only to the pipe organ.

I think guitar+Amp and Pedal is a strong contender there actually.

While the Guitar, Amp, and Pedal can produce an almost endless variety of tones and timbres, they are all parts that have to be added on. You would have to buy a large number of pedals and amps to be able to set up a large system. With the piano, everything comes "pre-packaged" so to speak. The pipe organ of course is a collection of different parts, but they are still assembled generally at the same time, and are pretty much permanant fixtures. A full pipe organ can emulate almost an entire orchestra. Even so, the piano can still do things that both of the other instruments cannot. I'm not trying to discredit the Guitar. The guitar can do things that no other instrument can! I am a big fan of using electric guitars in an orchestral setting. Some of the arrangements done my the Trans-Siberian Orchestra are brilliant!
