Default What program is good for recording music?

I need a program that is good for recording music. I am doing this VERY low budget, a lot of my friends and co-workers like the music I make and I just record with very very very bare-minimum things.

Just use Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/). You just plugin your mic and hit record, and it'll do everything for you. You can export to mp3, ogg, wav and au audio files, and the program has some built-in plugins (others are available for download) that you can use to play around with the sound a bit, but it isn't complicated at all. It's also completely free so if you don't like it, you won't be wasting anything on it. Windows also comes with a free sound recorder but that only lets you export to .wav and it does nothing else, iirc.
      Blobbery.
