I have a question... how to use Coda?
here's the file...
I want to repeat half the song and skip the last part and jump on to the next measure.. (sry for my bad english) but I ended up repeating the whole song without skipping the last part!

Use the D.S repeat symbol to make it move back to the beginning of the piece, which should be marked off with a segno. You should then place a coda sign at the end of whichever bar you mean to play last, before the coda, and in it's properties set the following:

-Play on pass 2
-Move to measure: whichever measure the coda begins at

This is all you need to do to get it working, but I'd suggest also marking off the coda with a coda sign, or, otherwise, text that says Coda.

I know finale has four layers for each staff with which you can work, but is there any way to change the instrument patch for individual layers? So like... i have a staff for strings - can i make layer 1 violin and layer 2 viola (just as a random example)? Or do they have to be separate instruments.

All layers operate on the same channel, so they must also use the same patch.

K, so this is actually an allegro question... but anyway. I used an expression in my piece (rit.) that was meant to slow down the tempo and then later on i used another (accel.) to start speeding it up again. It was working yesterday, but now for some reason, the tempo is not slowing down, but it is increasing - so the tempo stays normal and then starts going way too fast. Anyone have a fix?
