Although I haven't done it yet, I know Audacity works...(I wish I joined this place sooner for the credit) with the Stereo Mix (some computers it's called: Wave Out Mix) and it should work fine. I find Audacity a very useful and 100% safe program to use. You can also record your voice with it if you have a microphone. It's dang useful.
after transferring the file(s) over just hit 'Export as MP3' and you're set!

It's crazy but there is like no audio consequence recording with audacity. It sounds exactly the same.

Yes, you can make a midi file then convert to mp3 with MIDI Converter Studio on maniactools dot com. A file 5 minutes long it converts in 15 seconds.
