I seem to have a really hard time figuring out when and what kind of synth instruments to use. I love how some of them fit in well with the orchestra, but I never really know where to use them.

Yeah woodwind ensembles are great to experiment with. I had a good run with composing few woodwind quintet pieces that are all related to each other which will wind up being a five movement piece. But I've stopped composing recently, so I should work on that.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I've only been able to use them in orchestral arrangements as well. I'm not sure where else to use synth instruments.

Hmmm...good question...I suppose I could...depends on if I'm happy enough with them. But I guess I wouldn't call them finished if I wasn't happy with my compositions...

yea, well you could put them up and let people critque tem maybe. i know once i get back to my house after spring break ill be putting a couple songs up. theyre on finale on the computer at my house.
