Favorite genre?

Hey guys, just curious what your favorite genres are, besides VGM :P I think it's important to have a variety of musical interests, so I started this thread.

Just name what genres you like and some artists that you enjoy, if you want.

My personal favorite genres are trance, alternative, R&B, metal/hardcore, jazz fusion, and of course VGM. Probably a couple more but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head

My favourite genre is classic rock, followed by some regular rock. Also, in a similar category with vg music, i also like soundtracks for movies; i like the ones that have particularly catchy beats/tunes or have a lot of emotion.

I like classic rock, alternative rock, and nu-metal. I highly dislike rap, but I like some R and B, like Rihanna =)

Wow, i seriously like SO MUCH. Let's list them.
Alt. Rock, Hardcore, Classic Rock, Big Bang, Blues, (any kind of jazz really), Classical, Orchestral, some R&B, Indie, Folk, and VGM.

-Disney Channel Tween Pop
-American Idol stuff rocks!
-I'm a fan of some Jazz, but I can't handle the abosolutly uncontrolled stuff that I cant follow.

Film scores are amazing. My favorite right now is Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End. The new love suite melody is beautiful and it carries throughout the album. Its amazing.

I'm also a pretty big filmscore buff - John Williams is the best there is. Jerry Goldsmith and Basil Poledouris are also favourites of mine. I have to say though (with the chance of becoming unpopular) I really hate the music from "Remote Control". Especially Steve Jablonsky, Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer - It's all stappy strings and poweranthems for horns. Though I do like Badelt's "The Time Machine" - the first half anyway.

Other than that, it's mostly classical, especially eastern european and Russian composers, like Stravinsky, Dvorak and Mussorgsky.
I also listen to rock from the "British Invasion" era.

I forgot to mention that I enjoy classical; Rachmaninov is my favorite classical artist by far.

Lol, and I do also like soundtracks from movies, yes John Williams is the best! Although I'm not a fan of Harry Potter I think it's main theme is amazing (I believed it was composed by Williams).

And I'm glad that people here don't like rap. can't stand that shat
