Heh heh...well I thought I wouldn't play many secondaries in college but I'm playing in a few different ensembles with different instruments. But you seem to be a string specialist which is awesome! I wish I could play a string instrument.

I see what your saying, but viola has a certain color, especially on the lower strings and in the higher positions. It seems that in most cases the viola is used to fill the gap between Violin and Cello, even though there really isn't one. I love the warmer sound of the viola. I'm sure we could take out 1 type of instrument from any orchestra and it would sound fine.

Exactly. It does have a certain tone. It also has the richness of a lower register like the cello but has the upper register like a violin. It is pretty unique.

piano is technically my second instrument, though many of its characteristics are similar to those of my primary (percussion). it certainly is different, though.

I wouldn't mind learning flute some day.

So i stopped learning how to play bassoon, but i did learn like 4 scales on it. But NOW im playing trombone in marching band and string bass in orchestra. these are going MUCH better than the bassoon.

Well, I'm learning trumpet and guitar. Still not used to the trumpet's incredibly awkward notation(written a whole step above C instruments), but I'm getting the hang of it.
