Default Ensembles - 05-10-2008, 10:33 PM

What, if any, ensembles do you perform with/conduct regularly?

I'm taking May classes right now, but during the full semesters, I have several ensembles. I play trumpet in the jazz band both semesters, and mellophone in the fall with marching band. I also play in a concert band in the spring (trumpet or horn). Every week, I play with my church's choir/band (whatever instrument I feel like). This summer, I'll be conducting a community band.

I just play viola in my school's string orchestra for one semester; I'm not too keen on playing in ensembles, since I have horrifying rythmic sense.

Blobbery.

I perform with my schools string orchestra (viola) and concert band (percussion) year round. I performed with the marching band in the fall (front ensemble). I play drumset in the jazz band (year round class). This year I organized a string quartet which plays year round, and play piano accompaniment for solo players.

Also enjoy conducting the concert band and orchestra when I am given the chance (about 6 times a month).

right now, i only perform in my school's concert band and string ensemble. Since I'm not to fond of the teacher's teaching style, I try to distant myself from the school's band activities. Outside of school, i play in my friend's wind ensemble and do some jazz on the side.

Guitar Ensemble!!! Even though it's a fairly new concept, it's still pretty cool to watch. We have about 30 students in our ensemble, and we're experimenting with using different types of guitars like in orchestras. It's awesome.

Yay Brass Players! Join the social group I created. We now have at least four brass players on the forums now!
