What instruments do you play? -
06-27-2007, 07:51 AM
Can you play any instruments proficiently? If so, which ones? Though I wouldn't call myself "proficient," I've been taking piano lessons for six years now and quite enjoy it. Progress seems a little slow, but I probably just need to practice more.

The only instruments I play really well would have to be the 7 holed ocarina, piano and recorder. I've been learning the ocarina in my own solitude for about 2-3 years now. The recorder I first started playing in school, when I was 11. I really enjoyed it though and have been practicing since then.
Piano, however, is definetly my most played instrument. I first started playing the keyboard when I was around 7-8, and after much thought, my grandmother decided to buy me a piano. Since then I've been taking lessons and practicing for about 2-3 hours daily (if I'm not doing that I'm either arranging music or watching anime).
On a side note... I've just started to play the violin. I have no idea what I'm doing, though. I can play a few simple pieces by ear (The Prelude, Dearly Beloved, Aria's theme), but nothing too robust or exciting. I hope to get there soon, though.

They sell ocarina's in most company-owned music stores - but they're really cheap in both price *and* quality. You have to get the good ones online - I reccomend 5 holed ocarina's if you want to learn though. They're alot more common.

Well, I play, you know, whatever.
I sing, play keyboard instruments primarily, play brass instruments secondarily, play stringed instruments (non bowed) less proficiently, and wind instruments rarely.

Hey Andrew! Thanks for joining up! I always knew you were quite an accomplished musician, but I had no idea you could play so many instruments. That's really impressive.

That's quite the ordeal to conquer, there. I hope to one day be able to play those, aswell. But I just don't have the time right now. You should really stick with it, and, perhaps master them all! Hah. You could even be one of those one-man-bands. But to each his own, I suppose...

Master an instrument? Pshaw!
I borrowed a French Horn to master over the summer break so that I might play in the wind ensemble. I guess I should start reading some notes! I tell you, that instrument is very difficult, but it has a lovely tone and a humongous range.

I play the piano but I am in no way proficient at it! In fact I've been piano-less for about a year now. I had to leave it behind in Oregon. I have a keyboard now, but it's not the same. I also sing (your voice is an instrument, right? ) and I played the flute for about 8 years...I really should pull that out to see if I can still play it!
