Where is music going and how does it represent humanity?
I love music, and because of that, I've really been struggling lately. Where has the integrity of music gone? What in the world are people listening to now a days? Why does it seem that so much music isn't even produced with real instruments any more?! Popular music to me just seems so synthetic and shallow and materialistic and just downright wrong

Popular music today is certainly a far cry from what we consider to be "classical". Music is constantly changing and evolving, and not always for the better, or at least our perception of what is better. Even though we may not "like" popular music, that doesn't mean that there's nothing to be learned from it. I think we need to focus on what today's music does bring to the table, rather than what it leaves to be desired.
