Yea, the USD-JPY exchange is kind of high from what I've heard.
I completely understand what you mean about having stuff sit on the shelf for ages. I work at a furniture store, and business has been terrible lately.

Yep, the exchange rate between the US Dollar and the Japanese Yen has a lot to do with what we charge for items in our store. It used to be that one US Dollar was equivalent to about 120 JPY, but now it's more like 1USD = 94JPY. As you can imagine, this has significantly affected pricing. Our supplier has raised their prices significantly due to this, so we have no choice but to follow suit, or go out of business.
