I don't know about the hardest single boss, but Final Fantasy III has a ridiculously hard endgame sequence overall.

I don't know about optional bosses, but I think VIII had the hardest regular boss fight (the final one). at least to me, anyway.

as far as optional ones go, I'm sure the FFX Monster Arena bosses are up there, and Ozma from FFIX.

So I finished FFX and liked it a lot. It took about 57 hours to beat, and there was very much things I didn't do so I will gladly play it again. Now I think I start playing Kingdom Hearts.

Kingdom Hearts is awsome. I haven't finished Chain of Memories yet, but I've finshed both I and II several times.

At the moment, I am still working on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It's LOOONNG! I don't think I've ever played a 2D platformer this long! I've made it about 15% through the inverted castle.
I've also just bought my first Tomb Raider game. so I'm working through that. (The 360 version of TR Legend) I have to say, I've apparently missed a pretty good series of games. I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. It feels like playing a modern-day Indiana Jones.
AND, I'm also planning on Finishing Eternal Sonata before the end of the year. I've got so many unfinished RPGs it's not even funny! I'm only on Disc 2 of Lost Odyssey, I'm still on Disc 1 of Star Ocean 3, and I have not finished FFIV DS yet.

I just finished replaying Kingdom Hearts I and II. I don't really have another game in line until I pick up Scribblenauts and The Beatles Rock Band some time next month

Well, I think I'll revive this thread a little bit.
I'm currently playing: Lost Planet Extreme Condition (Colonies Edition), Lost Odyssey (still working on my first play-through), Kingdom Hearts 358/Days, and The Magic Obelisk.
The games that I currently am psyched up for are Final Fantasy XIII, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and Red Steel 2.

lol, it's funny TRL, because i just got a new game yesterday from a friend and i was going to list it here too. I don't get much time to play, but i just started Dragon Age: Origins, and so far it looks wicked.

As for games i'm psyched for, i agree that i cannot wait until Final Fantasy XIII is out.

Been working through older games, myself. Started a file on Dragon Quest II today and finished my nth playthrough of Super Mario World. Also working on another play through of Conker's Bad Fur Day.

You could probably accuse me of being a video game conservative here, but I'm really not looking forward to FFXIII as much as I thought I would. It seems like far too much of a departure from the original to be considered an actual Final Fantasy title, and although I'll definitely still play it, I just don't think I'll find myself considering anything after XII being an actual Final Fantasy.

Blobbery.

Yeah, i kinda understand what you mean there. My favourites are and probably always will be some of the older ones. But still, it's always nice to see something new, and to be honest, simply having the title of "Final Fantasy" is enough for me to be pumped to play it. If I don't like one, i always have the old ones to fall back on anyway

I've recently bought a PSP, so I have played Dissidia a couple of weeks, altough not really interesting. Probably it is interesting, if you've played all the Final Fantasies (or atleast many of them), but I started with Final Fantasy X. Crisis Core is however better stuff. Nice plot and battle system. I'm at the final boss, but first completing all the (300 I think) side missions.
If I've beated those games I'll continue with Final Fantasy XII (really hard game O.o). Got stuck in an airship somewhere in the beginning of the game I think... June / August: three days full time Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep playing.
Also looking forward to Final Fantasy XIII, but I first have to spare for a Playstation 3/Xbox 360. The graphics look amazing and I really like the story for so far I've heard of it, but not really sure about gameplay.
Well, that was it for 2010 (Don't know when Agito XIII is coming? And Versus of course.)

What mattered the most, was remembered the least - Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
