For those who weren't aware, Nobuo Uematsu has been signed up to be the composer for the entire Final Fantasy XIV OST.

I wonder if he will compose it in the style of his older Final Fantasy work, or if he will do it a newer style, such as that of Lost Odyssey.

I'm hoping it'll be more like his music in Final Fantasy XI. He composed some of the best tracks from that OST in my opinion.

Have you heard "Memoro de la Stono ~ Distant Worlds" from the Distant Worlds album? It's absolutely breathtaking!

Yes, I've heard of this and I think it's rather exciting. What I would like to see is some similar themes of the older final fantasies to be incorporated in a sense.

I was just thinking today, it would be nice to see Uematsu go retro. I'd like to see what he could do using some of the motifs and ideas from soundtracks like FFIV, and FFVI now that he has matured a lot in terms of music.

I've actually never played FF XI or heard any of the music from it, so i guess that tilts my opinion. I would kinda like to see some of his older style music though.

Yeah, this really excited me when I heard about it. While I like Uematsu's work all around, I would really like to see him take his style back in time about 10-15 years and see what he can come up with. IMHO it just doesn't get much better than the FFVI OST.

Hmmm...I've heard that FFVI is amazing from many people but haven't played it myself even though I've had it for awhile. I guess I should start it at least this summer.
