Tribute to Uematsu Contestants: Only Three Days Left!

Posted by Tim on Feb 06, 2008
For those of you who have registered to participate in our Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu Arrangement Competition, the deadline to submit your arrangement is Friday, February 8th at Midnight EST. We must receive your arrangement by this date or you will be ineligible for the competition.  Due to time constraints, we will not be able to extend this deadline, so please get your arrangements in as soon as possible!  If you registered and are ready to submit your arrangement, click here for instructions.

Server Problems Update, Competition Registration Extended

Posted by Tim on Jan 22, 2008
A massive hardware failure on Friday caused our server to go down.  After much turmoil, we've got it back up tonight, but there are a few bugs that we're still trying to work out.

We're also extending the deadline to register for the Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu Arrangement Competition until January 26th due to the outage.  The deadline to submit your arrangement is still firm at February 8th.  I apologize for the inconvenience the outage may have caused you, and we hope to get these bugs worked out as quickly as possible.

OverClocked ReMix Helping Sponsor/Judge Uematsu Competition

Posted by Tim on Jan 17, 2008
SquareSound is now partnering with OverClocked ReMix for our Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu Arrangement Competition. They've graciously donated six copies of Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream as prizes for the winner AND five runners-up, and head OCR submissions evaluator Larry "Liontamer" Oji has joined the competition's panel of judges!  We've extended the deadline to enter this competition until Tuesday, January 22nd, so get registered today!  All submissions must be received by February 8, 2008.

Now Accepting Submissions for the Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu Arrangement Competition

Posted by Tim on Jan 07, 2008
Today, we've added a submission guidelines page for entrants in the SquareSound Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu Arrangement Competition.  If you've registered for the competition and were wondering how to submit your arrangement, this page should explain everything.  Remember that your submission must be received by Friday, February 8th to be eligible for the competition.  You may submit your arrangement at any time.

Time is running out if you're interested in entering this competition.  The deadline for registration is Monday, January 14th, so if you want to compete, read all the details and register now!  As of 9:00 AM MST today (January 7, 2008), we have 48 entrants.  We'd like to thank all the sites that have helped us promote the competition thus far.  Links to those sites can be found on the competition page.

Happy New Year! Refer Your Friends to Our Forums, Win a Copy of GAME!

Posted by Tim on Jan 02, 2008
While the upcoming Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu Arrangement Contest has generated some buzz on our forums, we'd still like to get a few more people involved over there.  So, we're going to hold a contest this month to try and get a little more community spirit going in 2008.  The basic idea is that people will be rewarded for introducing members to SquareSound who achieve a certain level of activity.

The reward for this competition will be a free copy of Piano Squall's excellent GAME CD and it will be sent to the person who refers the most people that obtain over 10 posts during the month of January. This prize is obtainable by anyone (except where such contests are prohibited by law), so even if you register in January yourself, as long as you fulfill the criteria you’re still eligible for the prize.

In summary:
  • Everyone is eligible for the prize, no matter when they signed up.
  • The person who has referred the most people to obtain 10 posts during the period of January will claim the prize.
  • As soon as you refer someone who obtains 10 posts, you are automatically entered into the competition draw
How do we keep track of the referrals you ask?  Simple.  When you refer a friend to our forums, simply ask the person to enter your forum user name in the referral field as he/she registers.  We'll tally up the results at the end of January and contact the winner.  Assuming the contest is successful, we'll continue running the contest in subsequent months.  Questions or concerns?  Check out this thread for more details.

On behalf of everyone at SquareSound, we wish you all a very happy and healthy new year!
