Featured Arrangers Section is Complete
Posted by Tim on Dec 19, 2007
 |
Today, I've put the finishing touches on our new Featured Arrangers section. This section recognizes the most dedicated contributors to our site and Arrangement Archive. Featured Arrangers get their own special page on the site, which includes a biography, links to their arrangements, a blog, and special recognition on our forums. We're also going to be implementing a reward point system for all arrangers in the near future. This will allow arrangers to earn free or discounted items from our store based on the number of arrangements they've submitted, the popularity of the arrangements, and other factors.
If you're interested in becoming a Featured Arranger, the basic guidelines are:
- You must commit to submitting at least 1-2 solid, original arrangements to the site per month
- You must either be an active member of our forums, or become one
- You must agree to post in your blog (that we provide) fairly regularly about your arrangements (works in progress, etc.)
If this interests you, please contact us to get started. Special thanks to Ronin for helping out with the coding. |
Enter SquareSound's 2007/2008 Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu Arrangement Competition!

After weeks of behind-the-scenes preparation, we're now finally ready to kick off our the next arrangement competition! The competition is titled "A Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu." We decided to focus the competition on Uematsu as a tribute to his 20+ years work on composition for the Final Fantasy series among other games, and to celebrate the United States debut of the newest Final Fantasy concert series "Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy." The winner of this competition will receive two VIP tickets to the March 1st concert in Chicago, which includes concert programs, the CD recording of the recent Stockholm concert, and the ability to attend a meet-and-greet with Uematsu himself after the concert!
For those who'd like to participate but can't attend the concert, never fear, we're working on a great prize package for people in this situation too. What are you waiting for? Read all the details and get registered now! If you have questions/comments about the competition or would like to volunteer as a judge, please use this forum discussion thread. Thanks! |

New Final Fantasy Concert Tour Kicks Off, New CD to Follow

AWR Music Productions, LLC announces the premiere of the Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY world-tour for Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at the Stockholm Concert Hall, Sweden. The 2-hour program produced by composer Nobuo Uematsu and AWR Music Productions, LLC will be performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra under direction of Arnie Roth, with Nobuo Uematsu in attendance. The only other announced concert at this point will take place in Chicago on March 1, 2008. Uematsu will also attend that concert.
Looking at the tentative concert program (which can be viewed here), it appears that this concert will feature a combination of orchestrations from the previous "Dear Friends" and "More Friends" concerts. At this point, it appears there won't be anything in the way of new material, but these concerts do tend to offer up some surprises.
A CD recording of the concert, performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra will also be released and available for purchase at the concert venues. No word yet on whether or not this CD will be available elsewhere. |
