The Ring of Fates soundtrack is scheduled for a September 19th release in Japan. It is composed by Kumi Tanioka who was also responsible for the soundtrack to the original Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. We're pleased to announce that we've reached an affiliation agreement with Kingdom Hearts Insider, an incredible resource for all things related to Kingdom Hearts. Fans of KH will find tons of great news, media, walkthroughs, character info, and much more there. Our site has lacked a Kingdom Hearts affiliate for some time, so we thank Monkey and the rest of the staff for agreeing to affiliate. Be sure to check it out! |
Redesign Complete
Posted by Tim on Aug 01, 2007
 |
As you can see, I've implemented the redesign I mentioned in the last news update. I've never really been a huge fan of long lists of links, but in some cases, I think they're inevitable. Hopefully it will make the site easier to navigate. The redesign turned out to be a bigger pain than I thought, but I think I've got almost everything working properly. Please leave a comment here or in our forums if you find any problems. The only major issue I'm currently aware of is the search functionality, which is not working properly yet. This should be fixed shortly.
The redesign hasn't changed the look of the site a whole lot, but tons of files and site sections have been changed and moved around. The directory structure has been a nightmare for a while now, so most pages have a new home. Perhaps most notably, most lyrics are now available directly on the corresponding album pages. You'll find them by clicking on the "Song Lyrics" tab on the album page.
We've also implemented new shopping cart software, which adds new functionality and hopefully runs a little more smoothly. If you had an account with us previously, I'm afraid you'll have to create a new one. Sorry for the inconvenience, but there was no way around this.
I believe that covers the main points. Please contact us if you encounter any errors or problems and we'll get them squared away as soon as possible. Thanks for visiting!

Arrangements, Competitions, Redesigns and More!

It's been a while since there's been a news update, but that doesn't mean we've been sitting idle! We've been adding countless new arrangements to the arrangement archive on a weekly basis. Be sure to check out the newest sheet music from the Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda series. Thanks to everyone for their submissions.
New Arrangement Competition Plans for the next big SquareSound Arrangement Competition are being discussed right now on our forums, and we'd love to have your input! Winners will receive gift certificates from our store and/or signed copies of Piano Squall's excellent new GAME CD. Are you interested in taking part or perhaps judging the competition? Head over to this thread on our forums and let your voice be heard!
Minor Redesign Coming Soon! A minor redesign to the site will be unveiled within the next couple of weeks. We're implementing left and right side navigation tables and expanding the size of our design to make it easier for users to get where they want to go. We've also revamped the album and sheet music book pages with a tabbed interface to increase the amount of content, while making them appear a little less cluttered. To coincide with the redesign, we're also working on a new interactive site/forum feature that should help get the community spirit going. Look for all of this in early to mid August.

More Zelda, Kingdom Hearts II, and Super Mario Bros. Arrangements

This week was yet another great week for arrangement submissions. Thanks to Kimberly Boman, Nicol Armarfi, Xald Balghostriped, and a few others, we've added a plethora of new sheet music arrangements to the Kingdom Hearts II section, about a half-dozen to the Legend of Zelda section, and begun our Super Mario Bros. archive with three new arrangements. There were also other submissions this week from Final Fantasy VI, VII, and VIII. If you'd like to be notified when new submissions are added, consider visiting or subscribing to our new submissions RSS feed. Enjoy! |
