New Zelda / Tomb Raider Sheet Music and Forum Woes
Posted by Tim on Jun 22, 2007
 |
Since opening our new arrangement archive last week, I've been pleasantly surprised to see the arrangements pouring in for some new games. Kimberly Boman has gotten our new Legend of Zelda category started off with a flourish by submitting six excellent sheet music arrangements. Meanwhile, Cameron Goss has added four new sheet music arrangements to our new Tomb Raider category. Special thanks to Kimberly, Cameron, and all the others who've submitted to our archive. Remember, if you've arranged some music for any video game, we'd love to add it to our archive. If you don't see your game listed, we'll add it!
While the arrangement archive is doing well, the same can't be said for our forums right now. In an act of sheer boneheadedness, it appears that our entire forum database has been deleted. We have support tickets submitted to our host regarding backups, but it's not looking likely that we'll be able to recover. So, it appears that we'll have to start the forums again from scratch. It will probably take me a day or so to get everything back online again, so I appreciate your patience and understanding.

New Fan Arrangement Archive - 1000+ Music Sheets, MP3s, and MIDIs!
Posted by Tim on Jun 14, 2007
 |
Our vast fan arrangement section has long been a mainstay of SquareSound. Countless musicians have worked very hard to create the wide range of excellent sheet music, midis, and mp3 arrangements found on this site. And while, countless visitors have downloaded and enjoyed these arrangements for the last five years, there has been no way for users to interact with the arrangers -- share their suggestions, offer critiques, or give a simple word of thanks. Likewise, many arrangers have selflessly contributed their works to this site without ever knowing if people enjoy them, appreciate them, or even download them at all. All of this, along with many other things about our arrangement archive is about to change. |

Michael Gluck (better known as "Piano Squall") is famous for traveling the country dressed as Squall from Final Fantasy VIII, and delighting crowds by performing his original piano arrangements during game/anime conventions around the country. He will be releasing a new CD entitled "GAME" on June 30, which features recordings of Michael performing his original arrangements. Proceeds from the sale of the CDs will go to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Pre-sales for this CD are going on now at Piano Squall's site.
