SquareSound is Hiring
Are you a solid writer, web-surfer, and fan of video game music? SquareSound is looking for a talented individual or two to help keep content fresh on our site. Specifically, we're looking for people to write regular news articles about happenings in the Japanese video game music industry. If you're knowledgeable about Square Enix games, composers, and music, follow the concert scene, and have solid writing skills, we'd love to hear from you!
Basic Requirements
- Solid writing skills (HTML is also a plus)
- Interest and knowledge of Square Enix music and game music in general
- Knowledge of relevant video game music websites
- Ability to accurately and concisely summarize information into original and interesting articles
- Knowledge of Twitter and Facebook in order to effectively spread the word about the articles
- Time and motivation to write at least 1-2 articles per week for exclusive use on SquareSound.com
What's in it for me?
Excellent work will be rewarded with cash and/or items from our web store. In addition, you'll have some great resume material. One of our past editors leveraged her writing skills at SquareSound and other publications into a full-time gig at IGN!
How do I find out more?
Please head on over to our contact page and fill out the form expressing your interest. If you are able to send samples of previous writing projects you've done on the web, that would be helpful. If not, write a brief sample article about a relevant topic in the video game music industry. We're not too picky about having a lot of experience as long as the work is of good quality.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!

The New SquareSound is Live!
After months upon months of preparation, the newly redesigned SquareSound site has finally launched. Although the change in appearance and layout is the most prominent difference, there are a few other things that have changed. We've tried to focus on interactivity with the new site.
Here's a rundown of what's new:
- The Arrangement Archive has fully migrated over to our forums. This change allows users to post their own arrangements, and makes it easy for the arranger and other forum members to discuss and interact with each other. Since some arrangers have moved on, we've been unable to migrate all arrangements over from our old system, so it is still online for reference.
- We've added a new video archive. Actually, this archive has been around for a while, it has just been under-utilized and not well publicized. This is a great place to share videos relating to video game music, whether you'd like to post your musical performances, an interview with a video game composer, or anything else video game music related. We've also added a link to our YouTube channel, which is being updated regularly with new piano performances from the sheet music books we carry.
- We've updated and revamped our store to include all the latest Music CDs and Sheet Music Books from Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, Super Mario Bros., and many more. The new software also allows us to post videos on each product, and we're hard at work adding videos that demonstrate samples from all our sheet music books and CDs. We've also hired a translator to fill in the tables of contents for the books where it's missing.
A lot of this is a work in process, but we're working hard to get everything done. Drop us a line to let you know of the new design and offer us any feedback you might have. Thanks for your support!

New Store, New Products, New Commitment to Service
Along with the redesign of SquareSound.com's main site, we've launched a brand new store that continues our tradition of providing genuine Japanese imported video game music CDs and sheet music at reasonable prices. With the new store comes a new commitment to service our customers.
It's been a long time coming, but after months of work and some restructuring, SquareSound has relaunched with a new site, a new store, and a new outlook. With the demise of Game Music Online, SquareSound becomes one of the only remaining United States-based stores to service the video game music niche. As always, we only sell 100% genuine sheet music and music CDs for all your favorite Square Enix titles. We've expanded our inventory to include many other popular video games as well, including The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., and others. We will continue to expand our inventory with all the latest sheet music and album releases, so you know you'll always be able to get the latest music at SquareSound.
In addition, we now carry many more products in our US-based warehouse. This means much faster shipping times for US-based customers, and multiple shipping options for our customers abroad. We know the shipping times have been an issue in recent months, but due to the economic downturn and horrible exchange rates between the US dollar and Japanese Yen, we were left with little choice. We know you want to receive your music as quickly as possible, so we've taken steps to speed up the process and get items to you as quickly as possible.
Feel free to contact us with any questions, and we hope you enjoy the new shopping experience here at SquareSound!
